If instead of standard featured image you want to add images slider to you post or page, then you will need this plugin.You can get it from https://wordpress.org/plugins/featured-galleries/
It creates additional box, that looks like Featured Image box, but it is named Featured Gallery.
There you can add few images, and all these images will be used to create simple slider.
